The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), in collaboration with the Ministries of Defence, Finance, and Roads and Highways, has cleared 175.6 kilometres of right-of-way along the proposed Accra-Kumasi Expressway. The exercise, which forms part of government’s preparatory works for the major road project, was completed in 19 weeks—one week ahead of the 20-week schedule initially set for the operation. The completion of the exercise marks a significant step toward preparations for the proposed expressway, which is expected to improve connectivity between Accra and Kumasi and support economic activities along the corridor. The collaboration between the GAF and the relevant ministries was aimed at facilitating the clearing of the designated right-of-way ahead of subsequent stages of the project.
